We received notification about a 30 day reprieve.

Ron Bailey, Manager of Brewster Lines, has shared information below. A 30 day extension was granted on the ILA contract discussions to avert the December 29 strike. So we will live under the possibility of an East Coast strike for another 30 days, or until the issue is resolved.

The International Longshoremen’s Association and United States Maritime Alliance have agreed to a 30-day contract extension that averts a threatened East and Gulf coast port strike Sunday.

Details weren’t immediately available, but sources in the talks said the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service planned to announce the extension on Friday.
