Effective, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, the U.S. Customs and Border Protections will implement Phase IV (the final phase) of the Wood Product Restriction. Along with Phase IV, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has publicized their intent to inspect for solid wood packing material restrictions as specified in the International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15). Those shipments containing noncompliant solid wood packing materials will be forcibly returned to their origin port at shipping agent's expense.
