Ships’ Collision Closes Nehru Port at Mumbair

We have received reports about the collision of two (2) vessels (the MSC Chitra and The Khalijia 3) on Saturday afternoon off the coast of Mumbai. The MSC Chitra crew was able to be rescued, however, the 400+ containers are still in jeopardy, along with the resulting oil spill from the collision.
Update: As of Tuesday, August 10, India's two largest ports, the Port of Mumbai and the Jawaharlal Neru Port are likely to be shut down for at least a week.
