Customer Confidentiality

(January 20, 2011)

In our continued commitment to safeguard shipping customer's confidential information, we have been provided new information for you on this topic.

In 2008, a WORLDWIDE WATCH note was distributed to all UniGroup Worldwide UTS Representatives about customers' sea freight shipment information. For those customers entering and exiting the United States, their name and address was aggregated by a company called Import Genius who provided access to this information for its subscribers via the Internet, and the company continues doing this today. It has been reported to us that the information about their shipment is available from a basic internet search of their name. Therefore, we provided a form letter for your customers to use to request their name be removed from any published listing.

We are now aware that customers may request that United States Customs not provide information about them via an on-line request process. In order to do this, the shipping customer must request confidentiality by completing an on-line form on the following U.S. Customs website. An e-mail confirmation is sent when their request has been processed.

It is important to note that this customer shipping information has never been released by UniGroup Worldwide UTS. United States Customs is the party that provides the information contained on the manifests of ships entering and exiting the United States daily to various commercial magazines and trade journals. These companies are then authorized to publish the information, unless the customer requests confidentiality.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Al Molitor, Director of Household Goods Forwarding and Move Management via e-mail or any UniGroup Worldwide UTS member of management.
