Clean Trucks Program - On hold
(November 11, 2008)

As part of the Clean Air Action Plan required by the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, a goal of reducing emissions of harmful pollutants by 45 percent by the year 2012 has been set. An announcement was recently made regarding "The Clean Trucks Program" affecting Los Angeles and Long Beach ports only. As part of this effort, a "Clean Trucks Fee" will be a part of the ports’ tariff for cargo entering or leaving the port terminals via truck, and will be used to fund the purchase of new, clean trucks through each ports’ grant program. We have estimated the cost to be at $35/per T.E.U. (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Use). These fees will be a part of the overall pricing provided effective November 17, 2008.
