The Bio-Terrorism Preparedness and Response Act

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have determined that foodstuffs shipped with personal household effects are not exempt from the "Advance Notice" reporting requirements under the Bio-Terrorism Act.

UniGroup Worldwide UTS therefore discourages clients from shipping foodstuffs and alcoholic beverages with household goods. Should you need to ship foodstuffs and alcoholic beverages, the USFDA requires that you register the items.  This can be accomplished on line through the Internet at: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~furls/ovffreg.html
