Services to Alaska
(June 26, 2003)

Alaska is considered to be part of the "domestic United States" in terms of geography, yet shipments to the 49th state are managed in an international manner since they are generally routed across the ocean.

The steampship line, Lykes Lines, recently opened a new ocean service to Alaska from the United States via Canada.  UniGroup Wroldwide UTS was first to book a container.   The Ocean Bill Of Lading for the 40 foot container destined for Anchorage and originating in Minneapolis, Minnesota was assigned the number 1.  A framed copy of the BOL was presented to UniGroup Worldwide by Lykes Lines' Management and is now proudly displayed in our international conference room.

The UniGroup Worldwide UTS Alaskan team has 20 years combined experience in handling Alaska household goods business. Whether you need a shipment routed to the capital of Juneau or an isolated location such as Nome or Barrow, our team can take care of your shipping needs via liftvans, steamship container, airfreight service or our unique "Alaskan Express" air ride fleet.
