New Delivery Option for Small Air Freight Shipments To London

UniGroup Worldwide UTS, in conjunction with our partner Dimerco, now offers an expedited and low cost delivery alternative for small air freight shipments destined to London. Small air freight shipments are defined as shipments weighing less than 500 lbs.

Historically, these smaller shipments have posed a problem in terms of economic and efficient handling at destination. They are treated in the same manner as larger shipments in terms of customs clearance by a broker, transport to an agents warehouse and destination agent participation in scheduling and physically delivering the shipment to a residence. Many of these shipments can be better serviced by eliminating the more costly and time consuming hand off between the customs broker and full service destination agent.

With the "Dimerco Delivery Option", we will handle the customs clearance and arrange for the direct delivery of the consignment to the customers residence in and around London for a significantly reduced cost.

In order to take advantage of this lower cost service, you must do the following.

1. At the time of the survey, determine that this service is appropriate with the customer. Explain that shipments handled in this manner will not be unpacked by a UniGroup UTS full service crew. The shipment will be delivered into the customer residence but only minimal packing will be performed.
2. Notify your UniGroup Worldwide UTS Move Manager at the time of the quote that you would like to take advantage of the "Dimerco Delivery Option".

This is an excellent service to offer to private or prepaid customers, but not a service that we should sell to national accounts.
