(February 3, 2004)

UniGroup Worldwide was among the first international household goods forwarder to become a participating member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program in the fall of 2003. The objective of the C-TPAT program is to enlist the help of major participants in the logistics and supply channels of the United States to protect these channels from misuse and potential terrorist attack.

The U.S. Customs Service began taking applications from brokers, freight forwarders, and non-vessel operating common carriers on August 26, 2002 for membership in C-TPAT. To date, U.S. Customs & Border Protection boasts more than 1,600 voluntary participants.
