Mandatory Shipping Information                     (January 17, 2002)

U.S. Customs and Department of Commerce have instituted a new requirement.   Forwarder's must enter the transferee’s social security number or passport number into our export declaration filing.   This information must, therefore, be obtained before UniGroup Worldwide UTS can pick up any containers and filed prior to the sailing date.  

For all LCL shipments, each shipment in the container must have a separate AES filing to satisfy the U.S. Customs requirements.

Document Support Specialists located at the St. Louis World Headquarters have been instructed not to file an Export Declaration without this information as it can result in a fine of up to USD$5,000 per incident
