Return to Logistics Specialty Segments

The electronics business segment includes office products (such as copiers, faxes, and personal computers), medical equipment, computer equipment of all types, vending machines, dispensing machines, such as automatic teller machines (ATMs), telecommunications equipment, and a variety of other electrical and electronic based products. Most electronics equipment requires inside delivery and placement. Logistics' distribution agent network is ideal for this type of product because all the local trucks have lift-gates and are staffed with two uniformed professional crewmembers trained to handle sensitive electronic equipment.

Logistics' provides transportation management, warehouse services including inventory control and order fulfillment, and light installation for many Fortune 500 electronics manufacturers. When the product does not require technical installation, we will use agent local delivery drivers to provide installation. Many agents provide Office and Industrial (O&I) services so the agent personnel know how to install and de-install personal computers, faxes, and common office products.

Several of Logistics' network agents provide copier and fax distribution for local dealers or national copier customers as well. Logistics leverages this expertise to offer national copier storage, inventory, order fulfillment, delivery, pre-installation/configuration, and site installation services. The customer can be confident that these services are provided competently so technicians are not required and can be free to provide repair or field service work to generate additional customer revenue.

Reverse logistics is a significant subset of the electronics segment. Technology changes very rapidly in all the areas described above. As products are replaced, old products must be extracted and discarded. Approximately 50% of the states in the United States regulate electronics disposal in local landfills. These electronics must be recycled, reclaimed, or reconditioned.

Logistics offers a total solution from the origin inside location through total liquidation of any electronic asset. Logistics has several customers that specialize in providing all aspects of the environmentally compliant electronics processing. We provide tracking at the model and serial number level, web visibility to shipment activity, and feedback on product disposition (i.e. what destination processes that type of waste) with a settlement statement from the recycler or remarketing partner.
