All of our road equipment is air-ride, at least 48' long x 102" wide and equipped with spread-axles to make the very heavy loads easier to scale legally on axles.
Our drivers take great pride in their equipment and offer a trailer selection of flat-floor, single and double drop and retractable. If your freight requires a specialized flatbed trailer, additional types are available upon request. We have access to a diverse supply nationwide through our network of equipment providers.
Flat-floor (straight)
Common trailer type, best for lengthy loads. Can accommodate loads up to 8'6" tall.
Single-drop (step-deck)
A versatile trailer type that can accommodate loads up to 10'2" tall.
Double-drop (low-boy)
A special flatbed trailer type required for loads taller than 10'2".
Retractable-Tarp
Commonly used when delicate products (electronic controls, sculptures, etc.)
require the open-air load/unload access, and demand the protection of an enclosed van.
All our drivers are fully equipped with the necessary tie-downs (chains, binders) and a full compliment of tarps to safely secure and protect loads of all sizes. 
A typical compliment of flatbed equipment includes:

- 10 - 2" Straps and Winches
- 1 - Full Set of Tarpaulins (tarps)
- Various Wood Dunnage for Blocking

Transportation
Safe and timely flatbed transportation for your products are at the core of our service offering. We make it simple for you by reviewing the logistics of each item, each load, to ensure we provide the appropriate service you expect.
This begins at the time of your initial inquiry when seeking a quote, or just providing information that you may seek to make decisions in your business. Our considerations include the primary shipment dimensions, weight, commodity and any special requests for the shipment. We will determine with you the best trailer type and pricing available, along with any transit requirements.
Over-Size
We also handle over-size loads, also called over-dimensional or O-D loads. Accurate, three-dimensional measurements are needed to establish accurate pricing. Dimensions are commonly communicated in Length by Width by Height.
We obtain all the necessary state and municipality permits along with the travel restrictions, commonly limited to daylight hours and weekday travel only.
Loading and Unloading
Our shipments are commonly subject to shipper load and consignee unload. Should you require assistance in making these events happen, we can handle it. In addition to our vast network of over 900 domestic UniGroup agents, we are members of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) (www.scranet.org), which provides membership-only access to rigging capabilities nationwide.
We can arrange for the loading and unloading through use of a tilt-bed (roll-back) vehicle for autos, trailers and other wheeled-vehicles. Your Flatbed Services are well networked throughout North America offering quick assistance and solutions.
Extended Valuation
In addition to our standard carrier cargo liability, we offer extended valuation as a means to ensure your risk management requirements are met and/or exceeded. Shipment details are required and communicated to create the special policy.
Medical Systems and Components
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT) and gantry systems are primary shipment types and market niches we serve. We succeed in this field because of our experience, reliability and solutions-driven mindset. We understand the criticality of installations and competitive medical environment.
Machinery
This is an extensive market that includes most any type of machine. From commercial drill presses, robotics, to industrial lasers. We've probably handled it. Plant relocations require cooperation and coordination at the highest levels that only come with experience----and that's what we have. Experience.
Telecommunications
There are a number of telecom products that demand flatbed. Cell towers come in many shapes and sizes and can be quite long. Reels of (fiber-optic) cable require knowledgeable blocking and bracing. Remote-access cell-site shelters are often over-size and require good advance planning and coordination with riggers. Various antennas are also shipped on flatbeds because of their size.
Whether you have large booth equipment for a large tradeshow, or just a private show at a small venue, we have the knowledge that only former show experience can provide. We know what a hard card and marshalling yard are, and are keenly aware of the check-in procedures. When it needs to be there for the show to go on, it can go on us.
Sculptures / Artwork
Many art objects are the only ones in existence. Irreplaceable. Priceless. Fragile. Bronze works have patinas that need protected. Sculptures are made of many diverse materials that require careful handling----that only a van line understands. That's where we excel, based upon our track record.
